The NICS Crossover System

A 58m temporary crossover for engineering movements, installed in circa 12 hours without cutting into the existing rails all supplied, surveyed and commissioned by our team.

No cutting into rails, on installation or in use

48mm lift with the train’s weight fully supported

No interference with signalling infrastructure

VIRTUAL SIDINGS

The system is designed to be used as a virtual siding with capability for the stabling of RRV plant, equipment and materials. Stabling the plant and equipment on the virtual siding allows the trailers to be loaded prior to the possession. Once the worksite is granted the NICS is deployed by hydraulic motors and secured in place by bolts, the deployment time is 15 minutes and then the RRV’s simply drive out of the virtual siding onto the main line and to the worksite.

Full Crossover

Traditional temporary crossovers are often expensive, labour-intensive and time-consuming to install and remove. A Non-Intrusive Crossover System changes the logistics of engineering access by allowing vehicles to transfer between tracks rapidly without permanently altering the infrastructure. This can increase productive working time, improve safety by reducing time spent on track and reduce the cost and disruption associated with traditional maintenance activities.
